Interviewer InstructionsNURSE: Ask respondent for a saliva sample. READ OUT: I would like to take a sample of saliva (spit). This simply involves (keeping a dental roll in your mouth for a few minutes {aged 16+} / using a straw to dribble saliva into tube {aged 4-15}). The sample will be analysed for cotinine, which is related to the intake of tobacco smoke and is of particular interest to see if non-smokers may have raised levels as a result of 'passive' smoking.
