Interviewer Instructions`PRIVATE' PRIMARY OR SECONDARY SCHOOLS INCLUDE: INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS, SCHOLARSHIPS AND ASSISTED PLACES AT FEE-PAYING SCHOOLS. THEY EXCLUDE: DIRECT GRANT SCHOOLS (UNLESS FEE-PAYING), VOLUNTARY-AIDED SCHOOLS, GRANT-MAINTAINED (`OPTED OUT') SCHOOLS, NURSERY SCHOOLS.
