LabelAbsent dad buys expensive gifts? Q399
Question text Still thinking about the same family, where the parents separated some time ago, and the children now live with their mother and her partner. The children's mother and her partner don't have very much money, and are worried that the children are being spoilt by their father, because he regularly buys them expensive gifts and pays for outings that the children's mother and her partner cannot afford. Which of these statements comes closest to your view about this situation... the father should be allowed to spend what he likes on his children, or, the children's mother and her partner should have the right to insist that the children's father spends money on things the children need, rather than expensive gifts?
