The Conservatives are the only party truly standing up for the English. The English want their nation back. 1
The Conservatives promised to keep our local special schools open. 1
The Green party did not stand in my constituency. 1
The Iraq War 1
The Labour Party has abandoned its basic principles 1
The Labour candidate for my area is a new person replacing Mr.Forster for Wear Valley, the woman that was voted in was not my choice, she does not belong to this area, she does not know anything about the North East, and she does not live in the area, why 1
The Labour candidate was very good, compared to the others standing. Really didn't want to vote for Blair though. 1
The Lib Dems work extremely hard in my local area and have achieved much. The Labour and Conservative Candidates are only ever around here at election times. I also strongly dislike the 'backbiting' conducted by the 2 main parties in their electioneering. 1
The Lib. Dems. are the only ones to do anything in this area, I haven't seen anyone from the other parties since the last election. 1
The apparent merits of the individual candidate 1
The area in which I live has a 16% asian population which is causeing many problems including child sex rings and drug dealing 1
The benefits we have had through Labour have outweighed any other party 1
The best of a poor choice The constituency MP who in my area is very good in terms of looking after local affairs rather than being more interested in sucking up to the leadership to promote themselves in their careers as most MPs do. I would still like 1
The candidate had been an excellent MP. Quite why this outweighed his party voting for killing tens of thousands of people in Iraq I'm not quite sure. 1
The candidate had local issues in their interest, rather than the whipped view of the Labour candidate. 1
The candidiate was the most Pro-Life of the tow that could win and the other two would not talk to me. I cannot afford a house because of Labour. I also voted Conservative as they were the only party to support wholeheartedly freedom for Iraq. 1
The economy which is far better than it has been for many years. 1
The high level of taxation in this country. That and I strongly dislike Tony Blair. 1
The labour candidate was someone I respect and they have done alot for the local area 1
The labour candidate wwas chosen from an all female short list imposed on the area. Our present AM stood against her and was then expelled from the Labour party. 1
The leader was not as bad as te leaders of the other parties. 1
The leadership of Tony Blair. Would have voted Labour if led by Gordon Brown. 1
The less of three main evils... 1
The lesser of several evils. 1
The lib Dem representatives have given honest answers to questions put to them 1
The liberal democrat candidate had a proven track record in this constituency, and I considered him to be the best choice for this area. 1
The man had put the best effort into his campaign. 1
The only way to keep the tories out! 1
The party I disliked the least with the highest degree of concordance with my own views 1
The party I voted for are generally more in touch with the needs of the working class. 1
The party I voted for was the best of a bad bunch. I wasn't very inspired by any of the campaigns. 1
The party I wanted to vote for wasn't running in my area 1
The party does not want to go into europe 1
The party had not *the best policies* but the least bad policies 1
The party wants to introduce proportional representation. I believe this is necessary before the country can really begin to move forward. 1
The person and voting record of my local candidate 1
The points about policy and leadership were important to me, but it was also important to me to vote so that the Tories would not get in. In that way an element of tactics was present. 1
The policies agreed more closely with my way of thinking 1
The policies were closest to my views 1
The sitting MP is a hard-working and principled man, and I wanted him to continue to represent me. 1
The war in Iraq 1
Their councillor was the only one who bothered to help out when I had a problem 1
Their handling of the economy. 1
There are only two parties at present capable of forming a government, Labour and the conservatives. I believe that the labourparty best protect my lifestyle. 1
There are only two parties worth voting for who could form a government any other party is a waste of a vote as a life long Tory I obviously vote Conservative 1
There was no Green Party candidate in my local area 1
There was no Green Party candidate standing in my ward. 1
There was no Green candidate in my constituency. The Liberal Democrat had held seat for a long time and had a good proven record. So once I realised no Green available I knew I would vote for sitting MP. 1
There was no Respect candidate in my constituency 1
There was no UKIP candidate 1
There was no UKIP representative standing in my constituency 1
There was no green cadidate in my area 1
There was no party standing in this constituency that represented my views. 1
They are the best of a very bad lot 1
They conducted the electoral campaign with dignity and maturity and were opposed to the war in Iraq from the start 1
They didn't have things i majorly opposed to. 1
They had the least worst policies 1
They offered policies whilst labour and tories just said how bad the other was. 1
They seemed more likely to give a straight answer to a straight question 1
They were the least worst option 1
They were the lesser of three evils. 1
They were to my mind the best available 1
Though their policies were far too timid, they are most likely reduce the size of Government. 1
To get Blair out 1
To get rid of Tony Blair and the Labour Party 1
To keep Conservatives out of government 1
To make a point about the European Union 1
To rid ourselves of this present deceitful administration 1
Tony Blair lied. I can't afford a Lib Dem government. A vote for any other party would have been a waste. I agreed with some of the conservative policies, but not all. 1
Too ashamed to vote for the BNP 1
UKIP are thr only party committed to pulling out of Europe. All our policies will count for nothing once Europe get hold of us! 1
UKIP didn't have a candidate in my constituency. 1
Unhappy with my local Labour MP so was glad to dipose the useless woman by voting for the glorious Tories. (They rock). 1
Vernon Coaker, my local MP, is an excellent constituency MP who works extremely hard for the good of all people in his constituency: I voted for the man, not the party. 1
Vote against the war, couldn't vote Tory. 1
Voted BNP as a protest to mass immigration and to keep the issue alive 1
Voted for Gordon Brown because I think he is doing a good job and I believe that he will be the next Prime Minister which will be good for my local constituency 1
Voted for Labour as looking to future in the hope that Gordon Brown will take over sooner rather than later 1
Voted for my local MP - NOT his leader! 1
Voted for the person 1
Voted locally for MP already in post 1
Voting Labour was a definite no-no as I trust Blair about as far as I could throw Prescott. BNIP is a joke. Greens do not seem to have a consistent and rational policy on most major issues. Whilst I agreed with a lot of both Tory and Liberal policies, I 1
Wanted a change from Mr Blair. 1
We need to give someone other than Labour or Conservative a chance in government 1
Whilst I prefer some of the Lib Dem's policies, I believe Labour would be more competent in Government 1
Would not vote for the main parties as they are all to similar 1
a big labour area 1
a change from the norm 1
against labour - iraq do not like howard only left lib dem least worst of choice 1
all no good 1
all parties seemed the same only had choice of 4 so voted ukip 1
all the others seme to have very high goals 1
although Scotland has it's own parliament it only has so much power.Scotland still needs a voice in the English parliament until we get independence.SNP is that voice 1
although i intended to vote conserative this time - i was totally unable BECAUSE I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN LABOUR and hope they will do better this time 1

because 1
because I dont like labour in general on history past, they keep saying what interest rates were when the conservatives were in in power but forget to mention that they were 25-28% at periods in their last effort, and seem to have no interest in people th 1
because i did not want labour to get back into power and i did not like the conservatives. 1
because i wanted a party that would be for me a english man.i didnt want a party that would let europe rule us in every way 1

i couldn't make up my mind so voted for the man that i liked who was standing for my area 1
i felt all parties did not come up to scratch, but the local candidate i voted for at least worked whilst in his position, and none of the other candidates had been around so they were unknowns 1
i felt that my way of living had been quite stable over the last 7 years and i wanted my way of living to maintain the same standard for the forseable future. I felt that by having the same government as we have had for the past 7 years would, in my opini 1
