LabelHow could govt raise extra tax to pay educ, health+social benefits :Q908
Question text Suppose the government had to raise extra money from taxes to pay for spending on education, health, and social benefits. This card shows three different ways they could do this, and what this would mean for two different people, one earning £15,000 before tax and the other earning £30,000 before tax. Which option do you think the government should choose? Each person should pay the same amount of money in tax. Each person should pay the same share of their earnings in tax. The person earning less should pay a smaller share of their earnings in tax, and the person earning more pay a larger share.
