Interviewer InstructionsSHOW CARD I7. A description of statutory maternity pay is given on the card. If additional to statutory maternity pay (SMP) for only part of the period, code 'additional pay'. Card Reads: Statuatory Maternity Pay (SMP) For the first 6 weeks SMP is 90 per cent of average gross weekly earnings with no upper limit and for the remaining 33 weeks SMP is the lower of either the standard rate of £124.88, or 90 per cent of average gross weekly earnings.
