Interviewer InstructionsSHOWCARD K13 A long distance journey is a journey of more than 50 miles. If the respondent works on a train (e.g. train driver, conductor, catering staff) ask them to only consider journeys they make in their own time and not as part of their job.

SamplingMulti-stage stratified random sample
Study TypeRepeated cross-sectional study;monthly (up to year 2000), eight cycles per year (up to April 2005), monthly thereafter. From April 2014, reverted back to eight cycles per year.
