LocationHealth Survey for England, 2016
Interviewer InstructionsNURSE IF NEEDED: A gastric band is a band that can be surgically fitted to the top of your stomach to make you feel full after eating a small amount of food, which will help with weight loss. A gastric bypass involves re-routing your digestive system past most of your stomach, so you digest less food so it takes less to make you feel full. A gastric balloon is a non-surgical procedure where a small balloon is inserted into the stomach through the mouth. The balloon is then filled with a sterile saline solution to reduce the available capacity of the stomach for food.
