Sampling procedures: This survey is a panel survey based upon three sources: the British Election Study, 1983 (SN:2005), the British Social Attitudes Survey, 1986 (SN:2315) and Clones (substitutes for individuals leaving the panel). Interlocking quota target weights taking account of Class, Age, Sex and Region (CASR) are applied, modifying the original weights, in order to make any analytic dataset conform to the same characteristics as the 1986 British Social Attitudes Survey.
